Dan Fogelberg

When I was young.. this man was singing his songs. I really loved every song he wrote and sang. His voice was clear and easy to hear. I cannot believe he is gone. He was too young ... had more in him. I am grateful that he shared his musical soul with us.. and his wife was so supportive. He was only 56.

Many a time when my heart was lonely and was hurting.. his music would be playing on the radio.. and was able to soothe my sorrows.

Peace on your journey Home, Dan.

Tis the Season..

I can hardly believe November is over and December is beginning. I am still working on Trillium. I feel some very good things are going to happen with this new collection of music. I am quite happy with the songs so far. I have all the music done, but have been converting it into Reason files and tweaking much of the songs.

So far I have finished: " A Roses Tale", " Carpe Diem". "Dancin in the Clouds" is a work in progress. Some exciting things are gonna happen with that one. The rest of the songs are: "Nantucket", "Blue Ice", "InSync", "Nez Perce", "NuBeginnings", "Tangled Up" and "Trepidation" and of course the title track "Trillium".

Christmas is coming... come buy some CDs for your friends and family!! You can visit CDBaby.com as well as my official website and purchase the music. You can also give iTunes gift cards to d/l my tunes!

Thank you so much for your continued support of my music!

SoundClick.com

I have been keeping track of "A Rose's Tale" at Soundclick.com. I have been uploading music there for quite some time now. I decided to see what this song would do when I uploaded it onto the site. I've watched it climb up the charts and this morning it is number one on the New Age charts AND the World charts!!! I am shocked!

WHAT a trip. I am amazed and surprised. Thank you to those that have been such a wonderful support to my music. Wishing you a lovely day.

Luciano Pavarotti

Ahhh.. a lovely voice in our world has gone ahead to the choirs of heaven. I never liked opera until I listened to Luciano. My heart aches for his family and for the rest of us that have been left behind. He will be missed.

What a NIGHT!

WHAT a night. I just spent 4 hours playing LIVE at the Irvine Spectrum Center. WHAT a great place. There LOTS of people streaming through Myrtle's Court. I would take 10 minute breaks at the top of the hour. I was sweating to death. We rarely get humidity...however it was very humid.

I got there at about 5:30pm and we unloaded the van and set up. Many of the vendors in the courtyard were very gracious. I have to give the folks at Maki Maki kudos for turning off their music and allowing their outdoor customers to listen to the concert. In the midst of this craziness... I had to buy some new earphones as the Sony ones would keep cutting out while rehearsing earlier today. So with all the stress and excitement.. I had to go to Guitar Center to buy some new ones. THANK you Ben for the excellent service. I'll buy my gear from them from now on.

Security and Maintenance crew were exceptional. I really felt like they went out of their way to make sure everything was set up right, we had lighting, table, chairs and a table cloth. Very professional people there. Security did a great job guiding us in and setting up.

Ok.. I got settled in the first hour slipped by without any mistakes, problems.. .etc. Even my tendency to be Calamatous was not there. I took my break at 7pm and we decided to turn around the Keyboard towards the fountain. It was awesome. So many people sitting down and eating and walking by.

I really felt good Karma from everyone that came by. When I took breaks, I was able to talk to a few people.. so Craig, Sam and Ray... thanks for drifting by. Also many people stopped to talk to my husband Don. It was a good.

Overall it was the best venue I have played at to date. I will definately make it a regular place to play at.

By 9:30pm My arms were getting tired.. and I knocked over my mic stand! lol So I could tell I was getting loopy. I am glad I stopped at 10pm. I know that I could have gone 30 more minutes however .. my body started to complain.

NOW my job is to go to crash. Thanks again for your support.

Peace in Music,

Kori

August..

I have uploaded a clip of a song called "InSync" it will be on my album Trillium. You can hear it at Myspace. I have put a link below.

MySpace

First of all.. I had to clear the 2 SecondLife Performances because I will be out of town. I am getting ready for the concert in Irvine. I am looking forward to that. After I perform, I am done with concerts until I release "Trillium". I need to stay focused on the new music. I can't do it if I am always play concerts. I do multi-task..however its overkill for me. I have a family that needs me, my music needs me!!

Trillium is coming along nicely, but I think in order to do it "right". I will look to a winter/spring release 2008. I am composing so much music that is very different from what I usually have done. You will be able to hear the many influences.

I have also worked on a temporary web page using iWeb. I thought hmmm. how hard can this be? lol. So I did it. You can take a look at it here:

Have fun! Keep in touch.

No Chicago, Metaverse Messenger...

Well... what can I say, I will not be going to Chicago this time. It was a painful decision, as I am in the throes of working on a new CD. I just could not go and take the time away from it. My muse is impatient when it comes to finishing off the album.

On to other news... I had the opportunity to be interviewed by the Metaverse Messenger. The interview showed up in their latest issue. You can download it here: http://www.metaversemessenger.com/

Thank you for your continued support of my music. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be able to share my music soul with you.

Scattered thoughts, mumbling...

Oh what a crazy weekend I had. Being a mother of four, life can really dish out some interesting experiences. 2 of our four children have chicken pox. Can you say I am climbing the wall? Its bad enough for them to have it and have them be so full of energy during all this. They want to play with friends..however, they are contagious. So I cannot let them.

I am writing this out of order... lol. Oh well, its how scattered I am feeling today. Friday June 1st was my live gig in Mission Viejo. I had fun, I knew all of the people that came. 2 friends came from far away, Ventura County and he brought his friend from San Jose.

I have to say I was quite touched that they came from so far away. A few of my friends showed up too, which was nice. I promoted this concert since February and I still have not got this concert promotion down yet. I do well marketing..but the gig stuff. You either have a huge crowd or a small intimate group. I had that on Friday. While that was fun, I would have enjoyed having a larger group. I think I will need to go to places that have high traffic coming to the venue. My friends think that I have gotten very polished in my performance. I used to perform alot in my college days.. and so one forgets the many facets of the live gig. I know at BB Kings I was green... however after more than 30 concerts online I feel I have hit my "groove". I am working on more venues in the OC area. We'll see what happens. I will announce more venues and dates as I get them.

One thing I have learned is not to set my expectations high. I invite people to concerts, but have learned to to count on them showing up. You do what you can and then rehearse and then have the concert. I enjoy performing, its good for me to get out and do my thing.

I hope to do more..but I am not pushing myself. I realize I have a limit as to what I can do. I feel I need to chill out and relax. Part of me wants it all right now, this second.. and the logical part of me is very glad I am not in the public eye yet. I am small fry and I understand that. There are so many of us vying for fame. I did not do this to obtain the fame. I did it to share my musical soul with everyone. So when I get frustrated because I am not getting what I want right this minute, I take a deep breath and remember my goal(s).

Anyway.. musings.. ramblings, scattered thoughts...

Summer...

Summer is coming rapidly. I find myself working on getting concerts in the local music scene here in Orange County. You would think that there would be a demand for my genre of music.. since there is a HUGE fan base for New Age/Electronic music. I've been snubbed by many local places as I need to bring 'em in! Even the local newspapers snub me when I contact them that I am having a concert or an upcoming release of music. I have heard that the local scene is tougher on musicians... I never really thought it could be so.. until I started talking to local venues here. To have played at BB Kings... in LA was an awesome opportunity last summer. Its something that I let people know that I've played there.

I will be going to Chicago in August to perform for the SLCC Convention being held there. I am looking into playing at other venues in the area before I play and after I play on stage for the convention. I am guardedly optimistic. I know it will help me garner more fans and I will be able to meet current fans. I know it will help with my performances too. I've played over 30 concerts in SL now and I really feel like I've gotten my "groove".

Now.. my website is currently under a total "face lift" . I am looking forward to it. My friend Pete is helping me on this. He's really good at what he does... so keep on the watch for when I start talking about it.

Last of all.. I want to invite you all that live in the California/So Cal area to my performance at Moxie Java Cafe on Friday June 1st, 2007 from 7pm -9:45 pm. I hope you can join me there! I am so looking forward to it.

Upcoming Concerts...

I will be playing live again this weekend in SecondLife. You have no idea the learning curve I've been under to learn how to stream online. Once I was told how to stream, then I typed in all the stuff into Winamp/Shoutcast player. I realized what I was in for. It was VERY tricky. I upgraded my system to a Mac and now use NiceCast to stream live concerts into secondlife.

Now.. for the concert on Friday, I will be playing at the Acropolis in SecondLife, 7pm Pacific ( That is May 11th). Saturday May 12th at the SLiterary Grand Opening at 5pm Pacific. I hope you all can join me. Go to http://www.secondlife.com to join and you can find me Kori Travanti.

More to come...

Working...

It was a very interesting evening as I sat at my computer.. I decided to work on my new tunes online in SecondLife. I fired up NiceCast and had a few close friends tune in. It took me one hour to record two songs. The third song was giving me trouble.. and realized that it was 11pm Pacific.. and I was tiring out. Totally fun for me to do.

I got a brain blast that maybe next time, I'll invite members of my group online to come and listen to live sessions when I am feeling like sharing and recording too. More to come...

Next Concert...

My next concert is on the World Stage at the MMAC in SecondLife. I look forward to this because its a concert series with my piano sponsor SZ Pianofabrik pianos. I use them most often in world. I have about 7 pianos in Secondlife, plus some flutes, and a keyboard. Yes it IS odd that I would play there.. but during the school year it is very difficult to get out of the house and play at "brick and mortar" venues.

On Friday June 1, 2007 7pm - 10pm... I will be playing my first summer "brick and mortar" concert. It will be SO much fun! The picture that I have included is from a concert I did there a few years ago. Hopefully, I have improved! So.. if any of you live in the SoCal area... come visit that night.

Peace in Music,

K

This past weekend...

I had the opportunity to play at Bliss Gallery last night. We had a HUGE turnout. Lots of good people. The venue was bringing out the emotions in me. For those of you that don't know, I play online concerts quite regularly in SecondLife. If you have NOT seen it yet. I would go over there and give it a shot. The picture I am putting here is what my avatar looks like in world.

Back to the concert. Nubian was a bit nervous.. and I was too, but she and I had the opportunity to talk earlier Saturday and I felt something from her. As she told me about a VERY personal bad experience, she expressed that things would start to get better. I decided to write her a song to incorporate into my concert. I was feeling a bit emotional anyway.. and so I worked on it.

I had NO IDEA how well the concert would go. It was like the art scene really inspired my performance. My Manager... AJ Trumbo, told me it was my best concert yet.. and felt he had seen/heard my best concert. Very exciting to say the least. I am glad we had no griefers.. ( people that like to make mischief). I am looking forward to going to Chicago and playing LIVE for the SecondLife Community Convention in August.

More to come....
